Fourth Annual Planting Day on the Preserve

Foxfield Preserve will be holding its 4th annual Planting Day on the Preserve in conjunction with The Wilderness Center’s annual Native Plant Sale & Gardening Seminar. The Native Plant Sale is a wonderful opportunity to help Foxfield Preserve in our restoration efforts, while beautifying the final resting place of a loved one. There will be a wide selection of native plants available for sale, including many plants which could be selected as an appropriate memorial. Wilderness Center staff and volunteers will be on-hand from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to assist in choosing varieties and planting your selections. View the catalog of Foxfield approved plants to see what we will have available.

Butterfly Hunt

As the months of August and September bring with them a selection of wildflowers bursting open on the Foxfield prairie, we expect to see an exciting array of butterflies enjoying the flowering spectacle. Join us as we examine this colorful, fluttering activity on Saturday, August 29. A TWC naturalist will lead a guided tour to collect and identify butterflies, as well as the wildflowers and other plants on the prairie. Meet at TWC’s Hart Interpretive Building at 10 a.m.
