Breakfast on the Preserve
It is always great to be starting my workday out on the Preserve. This morning, as with most mornings, the birds were singing their chorus. As I made my way to the site for today’s burial, I spooked up a rabbit who scurried off quickly into the tall grasses. I didn’t have the upper-hand for long, though, as a wild turkey came down from a tree shortly afterwards – and then I was the one who was startled.
With all this activity on the Preserve, you wouldn’t think that I would be the first one to take notice of the newly ripe black raspberries. But there they were, still a little wet with dew and just beginning to be warm in the sunshine of early day. Yummmm! I’m guessing these will be the last I get, so I better enjoy them!
