About

In 2008, The Wilderness Center opened Foxfield Preserve, the first natural burial ground in Ohio. We are one of only a dozen cemeteries in the country certified by the Green Burial Council as a conservation burial ground. We strive to reduce the ecological footprint of final disposition while using burial as a vehicle for land conservation.
